The Arvada Wheat Ridge Service Ambassadors for Youth (AWRSAY) was created in 2001 by volunteers who wanted a program that recognizes youth who have overcome a major obstacle or adversity. Unlike other programs, AWRSAY seeks to recognize these deserving youth by providing recognition, programs and in the case of seniors, scholarships to Red Rocks Community College. Since our inception we have recognized 790 youth and provided over 265 college scholarships. Our mission is to provide ongoing recognition, educational and leadership opportunities for Arvada and Wheat Ridge teens who have overcome adversity. Our vision is that all Arvada and Wheat Ridge teens will recognize, act on, and realize their potential to succeed. Help us help our teens; nominate a deserving teen, or support AWRSAY through funding, mentoring, or employment.

Congratulations AWRSAY 2013 Recipients!

Congratulations to the 110 recipients who were recognized at our 13th annual recognition ceremony on March 6th at Arvada West High School. Of the recipients, 5 received $1200 Founders Scholarships and 10 received $900 scholarships to Red Rocks. 25 received free laptop computers, 15 7th-11th graders received $200 grants toward personal development, and all will be recognized in the United States Congressional Record.

Dedicated to Excellence

On October 16, 2007, AWRSAY was awarded the Jeffco Public Schools Key Communicators Network Celebration of Excellence Award. Jeffco Public Schools gives this award in recognition of the significant accomplishments of our students, staff, schools and communities.

We are now accepting nomination for the 2012-2013 School Year with the application deadline being Friday, December 14, 2012

Our required orientation for 2013 honorees and recognized students will be Wednesday, February 13th at 6 pm at Arvada West High School
Our 2013 Recognition Ceremony (required attendance for honorees) will be Wednesday, March 6th at 6 pm at Arvada West High School.
