Katey Parsons is a Licensed Professional Counselor contracted with Red Rocks Community College through Jefferson Center for Mental Health.   She has been licensed in the state of Colorado for over 5 years and was previously licensed in Missouri where she earned her Master of Education degree in Educational and Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Katey has worked in a number of setting including schools, non-profit agencies, and private practice and has always enjoyed participating in educational and mental health outreach activities.  She is very excited to be a part of the RRCC Health Center staff working collaboratively to provide quality healthcare services to the students.

Veterans Service Manager/Outreach Specialist

 

Carl LoFaro is the Veteran Service Manager at the Jefferson Center for Mental Health. He is an Army Veteran, serving in Ramadi, Iraq in 2007-2008, working as a counselor on a Combat Stress Team. He ETS’d in 2009 and worked for an additional two years at the Fort Meade Behavioral Health Clinic. While in this position, he continued to provide individual and group counseling to members of all branches of service. He also worked to ensure the clinic’s civilian providers better understood military culture and the needs of the service members. He attended the University Of Maryland School Of Social Work and earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2013.

 

Carl can provide individual and group counseling for student veterans, assist student veterans in navigating the VA system to apply for benefits, as well as connect these veterans and their families to the full range of services available at the Jefferson Center for Mental Health: including individual and family therapy for the veteran and family members. He is also excited to educate staff and students about military culture and veterans in higher education.

 

Carl will be on the RRCC Lakewood campus from 11:00am – 1:00pm on Mondays and Wednesdays during the school year and available by appointment. Carl can be contacted by phone at 303.432.5054 or by email at carll@jcmh.org.
