RRCC's Business Program Inspires Busy as a Bee Entrepreneur
Get Your Business Buzzing!
As an RRCC student, Timothy Johnson maintained a 4.0 GPA in his business
studies while successfully operating his honey and beeswax company, Busy Bee
Enterprises. If that didn’t keep him busy enough, he also found time to
join his brother in launching Circle J Cattle, an all-natural, raw milk cow and
goat dairy. Last year, Johnson took his strong business foundation from RRCC
and transferred to Thomas Edison State College in NJ, where he earned a BS in
business administration. He also practices real estate.
Johnson said many of his RRCC classes - Accounting Principles,
E-business, and Business Communication - have given him a
better understanding of how to best operate a business. He credits RRCC with
helping him develop a company that combines his animal knowledge with his
business skills.
Giving back to the community is important to Johnson. He presents to children
in libraries and schools about beekeeping and starting a small business. He
frequently performs with his family's string quartet at retirement homes and
has served as a peer mentor to young orchestra students.
