Sabrina Cavins

Instructor: Dance

Sabrina Cavins is an interdisciplinary dance artist, film-maker and scholar with her Masters of Fine Arts degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  Sabrina received her BA in dance from Columbia College Chicago in Chicago, IL where she remained for 11 years pursuing her dance career.   She has performed with several choreographers and companies including David Dorfman (community cast), Michelle Ellsworth, Darrell Jones, Atalee Judy, Erika Wilson-Perkins, The Dance COLEctive, and RTG Dance.  Her choreography has appeared throughout the United States and has received special honors, residencies, grants and awards.  Most recently, Sabrina has entered the world of dance for camera where her films Unrooted and Stranger Dances have been showcased in several film festivals through out the U.S. As a scholar, Sabrina was recognized for outstanding scholastic achievement with the Graduate Scholar Award by the Conference On The Image in San Sebastian Spain 2011. Through a scholarship awarded by the University of Washington, Performing Arts Department, Sabrina studied dance, film and site specific choreography in France 2012 through the Movement Arts and Design Europe program.

Diana Dillingham, Instructor

Instructor: Belly Dancing

Diana started doing ballet as a child, and performed with Denver Civic Ballet in high school and college. She then switched to belly dance as an adult, so she has gone from ballet to belly. She saw her first belly dancer many years ago and fell in love with the fluid, sensuous movements. She has performed on stage, in restaurants and for various civic events, such as the "Taste of Colorado," for the past 20 years. She has no plans to retire while she can still move and likes to share her enthusiasm for dance with her students.

Patrick Mueller

Instructor: Dance

Patrick Mueller grew up in Lakewood, CO and attended Pomona College in Claremont, CA. He performed professionally in New York, San Francisco, Germany, and Denmark, including intercontinental touring with Ben J. Riepe Kompanie, Mancopy Danse Kompagni, and Troika Ranch Dance Theatre. In 2008 he founded Control Group Productions, a Denver-based performance company that presents original works and also curates and produces other artists' work at CGP's home venue, work|space Denver. Over the last four years, Control Group has created 7 major works, participated in curations across the Denver-Boulder metro area, and co-presented the works of dozens of companies and artists. In 2013 the company is partnering with Platform 5280's Biennial of the Americas to create a multi-site outdoor performance viewed as a bus tour through Denver and surrounding areas. Patrick has taught dance at Red Rocks since 2010. He also teaches at Naropa University. He has recently earned his Master of Fine Arts in Dance at Hollins University in Roanoke, VA.

Melissa Trader

Instructor: Ballroom and Swing Dance

Melissa has enjoyed a lifetime of dance and performance. In 2004, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts with an emphasis in Dance from Colorado State University. Her choreography was chosen to be performed at the American College Dance Festival and the Northern Colorado Choreographer Showcase. Post graduation Melissa performed with Judy Bejarano of Impact Dance, Six Flags Elitch Gardens, Savannah Danse Theatre, and Doris Martin Dance Studio. In 2005 Melissa began teaching Ballroom dance alongside the professionals of Arthur Murray Dance Studios, and later, Essi's Ballroom. Throughout her teaching career, Melissa has been a guest instructor and choreographer for Richmond Hill High School, Savannah Christian Middle and High School, The Chatham Orthopedic Association "Dancing with the Docs" competition, and she was hired as the onsite dance instructor for the feature film "The Last Song".
Currently, Melissa is teaching Ballroom and Swing Dance at Red Rocks Community College. She is also choreographing her second musical for The Evergreen Choral, due to open in September 2012. When Melissa is not teaching formal dance classes, she is teaching Zumba Fitness, making routines for the Bear Creek High School Gymnastics Team, or choreographing for her next performance. The Theatre program is located at the courtyard level (west end) of the Lakewood campus, room 0503.
We are normally open Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
