EMT Refresher Program

EMT-Basic Refresher

The EMT Refresher course follows the National EMS Education Standards for recertification of an EMT certificate.  It is approved by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.  It consists of 36 hours of didactic and skills instruction. Completion of the course satisfies all requirements for recertification of a Colorado state EMT certificate and the requirements for section 1 of national Registry EMT recertification.

Course Cost

Course costs are based on 2 credit hours.  Resident tuition and fees are approximately $300 with COF (College Opportunity Fund) applied.

Required Materials

Transition Series Topics for the EMT. 2012, Mistovich and Limmer, Pearson

Prerequisites (one of the following is required)

  • Colorado state EMT certificate current or less than 6 months expired by the end of the class
  • NREMT EMT certificate current or less than 2 years expired by the end of class
  • Proof of EMT course completion within the last 2 years

Students with one of the above prerequisites may enroll online, no permissions are required.  Please bring your certificates the first night of class
