Professional Experience

English Instructor. Red Rocks Community College, Lakewood, Colorado. 2000 – present. (Adjunct instructor 1995 –  2000).

Teach composition, technical writing, literature, creative writing, and humanities classes in regular, compressed, telecourse, hybrid, and self-directed formats; develop and promote technical writing program; participate in departmental activities, including mentoring adjunct instructors, coordinating assessment of literature courses, and helping to assess composition courses.

Courses developed include online literature and technical writing courses, hybrid technical writing and composition courses, team-taught composition and humanities courses, an Honors composition course, and Learning Communities combining composition courses with political science and humanities courses.

Planned Writing Center objectives and strategies; recruited, hired, trained, and evaluated tutors; created policies and procedures; represented Writing Center at departmental and college meetings; tracked and reported usage.
