Ability To Benefit Testing (ATB)

The Ability to Benefit (ATB) is a form of the Accuplacer test. The test results are stored in the Department of Education database system. If the Accuplacer test is not taken within DOE database system, the results will be considered invalid for Financial Aid. Please be sure to tell the Assessment Center staff that you are taking the Accuplacer for ATB. They need to know this so they will set up the tests correctly for you.

You MUST show a picture ID; we cannot allow anyone to test if they do not bring a photo ID.
Our hours:
Monday - Thursday: 9 am to 6 pm
Friday: 9 am to 5 pm

The Accuplacer is used to determine your readiness for coursework here at Red Rocks Community College. You will be tested on your abilities in Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, and Arithmetic. Here is the minimum level of scores you will need for ATB:

Reading Comprehension - 55
Sentence Skills - 60
Arithmetic - 34

All three parts of the test must be taken and passed with minimum score in one testing session. Federal regulations require a complete Accuplacer score report with all three qualifying scores. The test is untimed, but generally takes 90 minutes. The test is taken on a computer and you will receive your scores as soon as you are finished.

After completing the Accuplacer assessment and receiving your score report, please bring it to the Financial Aid Office.

The Assessment Center website has study guides for the Accuplacer test at: http://www.rrcc.edu/assessment/accuplac_test.html
