What do I need to do now?

You may have already received an award letter showing that you have been offered a Stafford Loan. Generally, the amount of this loan is the base amount for which you qualify, based upon your current grade level and your dependency status. You may adjust this amount upward (if you qualify for more) or downward if you wish.

Please be precise in the loan amount and loan period that you request if it is different from that on your award letter. Any change made after loan certification may result in a significant delay of loan disbursement.

If you make a change from the original amount awarded, you will receive a new award letter. If you have not yet received an award letter, you will be mailed one once your loan has been certified.

If this is your FIRST loan at Red Rocks Community College begin at Step #1.

If you have received a loan at Red Rocks Community College before go to www.studentloanonline.com and ACCESS MY ACCOUNT then - skip to Step #2.

Step #1

Go to www.mapping-your-future.org and follow the links to Entrance Counseling.

After Entrance Counseling is submitted you may complete your loan application at www.studentloanonline.com.

Wells Fargo borrowers go to http://wfefs.wellsfargo.com/jump/redrocks.html and complete.

Click the “Get Started” button at the top of the Home page. You will need to create an account in StudentLoanOnLine. To do so please click on, “Don’t have a StudentLoanOnLine Account, Create One” button and follow the instructions.

Step #2

Click on the “Start a new Master Promissory Note or Loan” button to complete your Federal Stafford Loan MPN. Click the “Apply as a Student” button.

Select the state and Red Rocks C.C. and then click the “Federal Stafford” button.

Select the loan period begin/end dates for which you are applying for the loan.

Step #3

Complete all required fields. Select your lender from the dropdown Lender List.

Once all necessary information is entered, you will be directed to the Stafford Application Confirmation page. Please verify that all information is correct.

Other options are available to sign your Federal Stafford Loan MPN, so please choose the Electronic Signature to expedite processing.

Once the Financial Aid Office receives your information and processes your loan request, you will receive an award letter in the mail.
