Transferring
The information on this page is meant for students who are transferring into as well as out of Red Rocks Community College.
Students who transfer need to be sure that their financial aid application is sent to the school they will be attending. To do this they should add the federal school code of the new school to their FASFA by either calling the FAFSA processor, if you filed a paper application. You will need your DRN number from your Student Aid Report to complete the transaction. If the student filed their application online they can log into their record and add the federal code of the school they are transferring to, they will need their Federal PIN in order to log into their application.
Red Rocks Community College Federal School Code: 009543
Federal Processor Phone Number: 1-800-433-3243

Things to consider:
- While the word “transfer” is used, financial aid does not transfer as one would transfer funds between bank accounts. Students need to submit their application to the school that they will be attending.
- Sending your application to a new school is just like applying all over again from scratch so you should be aware of your new school’s Priority Dates.
- Transferring to a new school during the academic year may require that you cancel any unused financial aid at your old school.
- Students may need to submit certification to the new school that their aid was cancelled at their previous institution. Please check the institutions policies that you are transferring to.
- Any special arrangements made with one school (dependency appeals or professional judgments) do NOT transfer with your application. Those appeals will have to be submitted to the institution reviewing your application.
- Each school awards students based on their own internal policies and availability of funds. Some funds are limited and are managed by the schools individually, transferring to a new school may mean you lose out on the use of those funds.
- You may be selected for verification, even if your file was verified by the school you are transferring from. This would mean providing supporting documentation for the information on your FAFSA.
Once the new institution receives your application it will be reviewed based on their policies and processes. In the case of students transferring into Red Rocks Community College, students will receive mailed notifications on any documentation required to complete the application. Students can also access student account records here.
