Advanced Wood Technologies
Immerse Yourself in Innovation
The Advanced Wood Technologies tract of the Fine Woodworking Program teaches students how to incorporate computer-aided technologies to accomplish their woodworking projects. They begin by digitally designing their creative concepts in the latest CAD/CAM software programs such as SketchUp and Rhino. CNC routers, laser cutters, and 3D printers can then machine the designs into reality. Through their projects, students build skillsets that are in high demand in today's professional production woodworking environments. You will learn to facilitate 3D renderings, create complex designs, produce intricate wood objects, and replicate furniture components in production mode.
Learn at Your Pace
No prior woodworking experience is necessary to begin the Fine Woodworking Program. Take classes individually or as part of a certificate program. Classes are offered during the day, in the evenings, and on weekends.
