Academic Excellence / Program Highlights
The Fine Woodworking Department at Red Rocks Community College is the second largest program of its kind in the nation. The Lutherie program offers classes in building specific stringed musical instruments. This popular program which had over 70,000 hits since March 2, 2009, on the You tube channel, attests to the consumer interest and demand for such a program. Classical guitar, steel string, electric, archtop jazz guitar, violin and mandolin building, as well as instrument repair classes, are offered by highly skilled instructors to meet the demands of the marketplace.
