Foreign Languages Program at Red Rocks Community College
Our program offers courses leading to an Associate of Arts. The Associate of Arts in Foreign Languages provides the first two years of course work towards a Bachelor of Arts degree. For those of you who do not plan to major in Foreign Languages, emphasis in this area provides an excellent, general liberal arts background for many professions, such as teaching, business, marketing, international relations and other related areas of interest.
We offer a variety of excellent course offerings, including day, night and weekend classroom, hybrid, self-study and online. If you are planning the first two years of your college experience at Red Rocks, you will be pleased to know our core courses transfer to Colorado state colleges and universities. All students taking an upper level Spanish class must either have the needed prerequisite (see schedule) or take a Spanish placement exam through the Foreign Languages department.

This AA Spanish or French Designated Degrees will transfer seamlessly to Colorado public colleges or universities.

Your AA or AS Degree will transfer to all Colorado public 4-year colleges and universities if you complete your AA or AS degree with a C or better - and the remaining 60 credit hours in a school or arts and sciences at the four-year public institution of your choice. Starting at RRCC makes cents! At about half the cost of a four year university you will complete all of your general education requirements for the bachelor’s and can take electives geared toward a specific major.
