Earth Week 2012 Schedule of Events
Monday 4/16 – 11am–2pm - Help us start off the week!
•Information booths and local vendors, tours of efficiency cottage and solar system. We will also be collecting your electronic recycling all week long! Drop yours off in the boxes by the Pavilion near the East entrance or by facility services.
Tuesday 4/17 – No festivities – Campus Development Day – no classes
•Renewable Energy Career Speaker Series – 5-6:30pm - Red Fox Room (rm 1105)
Chuck Kurnik (NREL)-work standardizing measurement and verification of energy
efficiency improvements for utilities.
Wednesday 4/18 – 11am-2pm - Renewable Energy Expo and Solarbration
•See and hear about the new technologies available! Wind, Water and all things Solar! Exhibits, info booths, trailer demos, tours of efficiency cottage and solar system and more! Speakers on Green Roofs and Thomas Doerr of Doerr Architecture on passive solar in the Council Conference Room! We will also continue collecting your electronic recycling. Drop off boxes by the Pavilion near the East entrance or by facility services.
Thursday 4/19 – 11am-2pm - Green Career Fair
•Come learn about the options available in the renewable energy, water treatment and other industries! Speakers: Cory Knopp (Setpoint Systems Corporation)Careers in Systems Integration of Building Controls-Time TBA, and Brian Lee (Lee Efficient Energy, L.L.C.)Careers in Energy Auditing and Weatherization-1 pm! We will still be collecting your electronic recycling. Drop off boxes by the Pavilion near the East entrance or by facility services.
Friday 4/20 – 11am-1pm - Help the faculty clean up the campus! & Lights Off
•Join faculty and staff as we walk the grounds and watershed, showing we care about our environment – both academic and natural! Pick-up of our collected ewaste will also take place. Drop off boxes by the Pavilion near the East entrance or by facility services before 1:30pm.
*During the course of the week we will be collecting electronic recyclables – very few items are not accepted! Contact Action Recycling at 303-424-1600 if you have questions. Pick-up will be at RRCC on Friday 4/20.
**We will also be giving away a sustainable, reusable bag, filled with recycled and reusable school items! Sign our Green Campus Initiative, pledging your support and action anytime Monday – Thursday, and be entered for a chance to win it! Winner by random drawing will be announced Friday 4/20
