Nurse Aide Courses NUA 101 and NUA 170

Colorado is experiencing a tremendous shortage in skilled nursing assistants. This course prepares you for a job in this fast-growing field. Instruction includes basic nursing assistant procedures, skills, restorative services, general household activities, patient care, safety, and emergency care. Students gain an understanding of the responsibilities involved in working with patients of all ages, in both wellness and illness, issues of mental health, patient rights, and patient/family interactions.

A minimum of 107 hours of training is required. Several options for courses exist to include: afternoon or evening classes during the week, accelerated Monday through Thursday days, or the weekend option of Friday night and all day Saturday. We offer four 8 hour clinicals for the NUA class. Clinical shifts are scheduled outside of classroom hours and maybe conducted any day of the week.

In the last 10 years, the nurse aide profession has grown almost 50%. Base salary ranges from $8.50 - $12.00/hour, plus shift and weekend differential.

There has never been a better time to propel your education in health care than now. Many nursing programs require completion of a nurse aide course prior to entrance into their programs. In addition, job opportunities are numerous, in such areas as:

  • Home Health
  • Long Term Care
  • Rehabilitation
  • Hospitals
  • Hospice
  • And more!
