Honors Program Benefits

The Red Rocks Community College Honors program offers an enhanced learning environment for students who love to learn.

High Transcript Visibility:
Each Honors course is noted on your transcript, as is a separate designation of graduation from the Honors Program.

Scholarship Opportunities:
We award scholarships that cover full tuition -- up to 60 credit hours.

Graduation:
In addition to the standard graduation ceremony, the Honors Program conducts a separate, more personal commencement program for its students. Students are not required to graduate from the college to graduate form the program.

Personal attention:
All Honors Program students have an Honors advisor to assist them in smooth progress towards academic goals and graduation.

Activities:
To connect with the Honors community, the program provides a variety of activities including field trips and other functions, often with expenses paid by the program.

Transfer Benefits:
Four-year schools may consider your application a priority - in view of the evidence of your pursuit of academic excellence. Scholarships may be available.

Honors Completion Requirements

• Successful completion of 15 credit hours of Honors level courses including the Honors Seminar.
• 10 hours of approved community service.
• GPA of 3.0 to stay in the program.
• Participation in 80% or more of Honors activities.

NOTE: You do NOT need to be accepted into the Honors Program to enroll in Honors level classes except the seminar. You will still receive the honors designation next to the class on your transcript. With permission of honors faculty, you may contract to do honors work and receive honors credit. There is no limit on how many honors classes you can receive Honors credit for.
