The Human Resources Office offers a variety of training opportunities for employees of Red Rocks Community College including Supervisors Training, Diversity Training, Sexual Harassment Awareness and Workplace Violence Awareness. Please contact your HR Representative to schedule a training session or to have access to any training resources.

Right Fit Hiring (2 hours)
Research indicates that when organizations engage in a comprehensive recruiting process, the likelihood of subsequent successful employment increases. In this workshop, the concept of “right fit hiring”, from recruitment to the onboarding process will be explained. The legalities of the hiring process and RRCC procedures will also be
covered.

Performance Management: Not Just an Annual Event (All Day)
This development session for supervisors will comprehensively cover the performance management process. System policy will be discussed and reviewed in depth. Strategies and tools will be provided for attendees to enhance the effectiveness of their employees.

FLSA (2 hours)
(Fair Labor Standards Act)
“Exempt vs. Non-Exempt,” “Straight-Time, Overtime, Flextime,” “Paid lunch breaks,” “Express milk for mothers.” These policies and topics can be confusing for even the most experienced supervisors. In this interactive training session, the requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act and RRCC procedures will be covered.

GLBT Awareness (2.5 hours)
This workshop is for staff and faculty who are interested in becoming an Ally to GLBT, student, faculty, and staff. The purpose of Safe Zone is to raise awareness of ways homophobia, transphobia, and heterosexism affect everyone; explore ways Allies can support the GLBT community and each other and provide an opportunity for participants to become an Ally.

ADA Training (2.0 hours)
This workshop will provide basic training on the Americans with Disabilities Act, and compliance. There will be a generic legal foundation presented and followed by a Q & A about disabilities in the workplace.
