Does Red Rocks offer a high school diploma or GED program?

Red Rocks Community College offers associate degrees and college certificates. Red Rocks does not offer a high school diploma. However, upon approval by your high school counselor, take classes at Red Rocks for high school credit. The Office of High School Relations coordinates delivering the college transcript to the high school for consideration of high school credit.

You can take a FREE GED pre-test or register for the GED Preparation Class at the Lakewood Campus (303-914-6717) or at the Arvada Campus (303-914-6030). Please visit the RRCC GED web site at www.rrcc.edu/ged for additional information. Red Rocks Community College DOES NOT offer the Official GED test. The GED testing center for Jefferson County is located at Warren Tech at 13300 West 2nd Place, Lakewood, CO. You can contact them at 303-982-8633.

How old must I be to take classes at Red Rocks?

Red Rocks Community College welcomes high school students 17 years old or older who are currently enrolled in high school.

Does Red Rocks offer classes for high school students?

Students attend regular college classes with other college students of varying ages and educational backgrounds. Basic skills coursework for students whose assessment scores are below college level is offered as well as standard college coursework.

How do college classes differ from high school?

The college environment is different from high school in many ways. For example, students are responsible for making arrangements with the instructor for an anticipated absence. Also, midterm grades are not distributed. Rather, it is the student’s responsibility to monitor his or her grade and initiate communication with the instructor. Some terminology differences:

How do I request a Red Rocks transcript?

As a high school student, you should register through the High School Relations Office. A transcript will automatically be sent to your high school approximately two weeks after the last day of classes. If you need a transcript for your personal records, or to be sent to a college/university, stop by the Admissions Office or call 303.914.6352 to make your request.
