Admission
Requirements
The admission process is simple and does not
require any fees. To make the application process easier, you
should send us the following documents preferably six weeks
before classes begin. (You should plan ahead and give yourself
enough time to complete all the steps required to get a visa,
make your travel arrangements, and arrive here by the Friday
before classes begin.) Classes typically begin the last week
of August, the third week of January, and the first week of June.
- Red Rocks Community College "Application
for Admission" Form (see above)
- Proof of Financial Capability
- Current bank account statement (dated within the 3 months
prior to your application) showing the student's or
student's sponsor's financial resources (with U.S. dollar
equivalent of $19,800 for ESL only OR $20,300 for regular college courses)
- Government-sponsored students show scholarship support
guarantee letter
Minimum funds needed to live independently for one academic year
(9 months): tuition=$8,500 for regular college courses OR $8,000
for ESL only; estimated living expenses=$9,500; books/supplies=
$1,700; and health insurance=$600 (unless already covered by
insurance from home country). Total: $20,300 for regular college
courses OR $19,800 for ESL only. Separate affidavits of support
from local sponsors in Colorado, such as relatives you might live
with, can reduce estimated living expenses shown on foreign
financial documents to $3,500 (Download Affidavits of Support here, or request
that they be mailed to you from the International Education Office.)
Upon successful application, you will receive an
"I-20" (Certificate of Eligibility for a Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student
Status) with the letter of final acceptance to Red Rocks Community
College, which you may then use to apply for a student visa (F-1)
at a local U.S. embassy or consulate in order to travel here for
study. If you intend to study ESL, your Intensive English Program
admission includes provisional admission at our college.
