Admission Requirements

The admission process is simple and does not require any fees. To make the application process easier, you should send us the following documents preferably six weeks before classes begin. (You should plan ahead and give yourself enough time to complete all the steps required to get a visa, make your travel arrangements, and arrive here by the Friday before classes begin.) Classes typically begin the last week of August, the third week of January, and the first week of June.

  1. Red Rocks Community College "Application for Admission" Form (see above)

  2. Proof of Financial Capability

    - Current bank account statement (dated within the 3 months prior to your application) showing the student's or student's sponsor's financial resources (with U.S. dollar equivalent of $19,800 for ESL only OR $20,300 for regular college courses)

    - Government-sponsored students show scholarship support guarantee letter

Minimum funds needed to live independently for one academic year (9 months): tuition=$8,500 for regular college courses OR $8,000 for ESL only; estimated living expenses=$9,500; books/supplies= $1,700; and health insurance=$600 (unless already covered by insurance from home country). Total: $20,300 for regular college courses OR $19,800 for ESL only. Separate affidavits of support from local sponsors in Colorado, such as relatives you might live with, can reduce estimated living expenses shown on foreign financial documents to $3,500 (Download Affidavits of Support here, or request that they be mailed to you from the International Education Office.)

Upon successful application, you will receive an "I-20" (Certificate of Eligibility for a Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status) with the letter of final acceptance to Red Rocks Community College, which you may then use to apply for a student visa (F-1) at a local U.S. embassy or consulate in order to travel here for study. If you intend to study ESL, your Intensive English Program admission includes provisional admission at our college.
