Constellation Comments - Mission Vision

RRCC’s non-educational activities and objectives harmonize or fit with its fundamental mission, vision, and philosophy.
Again the intentions are there, but priorities should be reassessed regularly in a community college.
Leaders communicate a clear vision for RRCC’s future.
All that we hear from "leaders" is about finances and whether or not we will be here next year. Everyone knows the state of affairs, lets get on with something we can affect change with - our institution.
RRCC’s core values stress the centrality of learning.
Core values aren't clear.
A clear understanding of RRCC’s priorities guides employees in their work.
...not always sure what our priorities are.
This was not the case with the previously.  Hopefully this will change.
This would be very helpful! I would love to know what the college's priorities are. That would help me figure out what my priorities should be.
RRCC priorities need to be broken down to "how does it affect my job" and "what can I do in my job to help accomplish RRCC priorities"
RRCC has well-understood strategies to assure it will continue to be effective in the future.
I don't think we have a consensus on where we want to go, and how we want to get there.
I'm note sure our strategies are well understood.  More communication is needed in this area.
Departments set specific targets for improving their work.
If this is happening, it hasn't been communicated to me.
RRCC measures its progress in accomplishing institutional strategies.
What are the goals for this year?  Faculty goes to supervisors with goals each Fall.  Other than remaining a functional school, what are our goals for the year? Oh, and please don't relate it to us in terms of FTE growth. That is not why we are here.
We seem to always have plans, however, I have never seen any results reported or posted.
Employees share a vision of what the institution will be like in the next 5-10 years.
Individual areas have a vision for the next 5 -10 years.  The college does not have a vision for the next 5-10 year or if it does it hasn't been communicated to all constituencies.
Part timers have no say.
I think we should take it one year at a time...nearsightedness is not always bad.
RRCC regularly measures its progress toward achieving its goals.
We measure, but don't always interpret, discuss, and evaluate results.
Planning processes improve RRCC’s effectiveness
The college does have minimal planning processes.
I wasn't aware of much effective planning going on in the past.
We'll see more after this current planning process is more nearly completed.
The planning should include more of the frontline employees, adjunct faculty and student reps.
