What does RRCC need to work on?
- Encourage more cross discipline collaboration such as learning communities to improve the application of learning.
- Students who are at risk of failure, should be assigned a faculty advisor to monitor their progress and provide support.
- Tutoring should be more available during non traditional times.
- Increase financial aid options for students.
- RRCC needs more resources and better communication to implement good ideas and more willingness to explore new programs and services.
- The mission documents of the College are not used effectively by departments or leadership for decision making.
- RRCC needs to work against the stereotype that expectations and standards are low because it is a Community College. Avoid investing resources in slick marketing in lieu of instructional breadth and depth.
- RRCC needs to be more responsive to community needs. Improve outreach efforts that promote the cost effectiveness of community colleges in preparing university bound students,
- More opportunities for PT professional development and training, advancement and increased pay. Improve communication with and inclusion of PT faculty.
- Improve full time faculty compensation. Hire more full time faculty.
- Update equipment in the classrooms and increase support and training in the proper use of the equipment.
- Update the books in the library.
- Improve the website registration site.
- Try harder to avoid class cancellations. Try and have at least some courses available during summer semester in all disciplines.
- Even though RRCC has an open door policy, it is important to expect excellence from students. Degrees and certificates should only be granted to students with demonstrated proficiency.
- RRCC needs to add a review session prior to the required assessment exam and enforce assessment testing and appropriate course placement.
- Increase intern options and be more systematic about leveraging marketing resources with partner universities.
- No smoking around College entrances.
- Reduce class sizes and encourage more diversity.
