   Additional Resources

Tutorials
Tutorials, help screens, and screen shots explain the use of the library's subscription services and the web catalog. Most tutorials and help screens are provided by the company sites but do not require logging in from off campus.
Library Exercises
Two library exercises -- one for general use and one for business students -- let you test yourself in the use of several key online library resources. Some instructors assign or give extra credit for completion of the exercise. If the exercise has been assigned by your instructor, find out if you should return the completed exercise to the instructor or to the library. If the exercise has not been assigned, email (library@rrcc.edu) or fax (303.914.6741) the exercise to the library when completed or print it out and leave it at the circulation desk if you want the library to review your answers. Remember to put your name and (if you expect credit for the exercise) your class and instructor's name on the completed exercise.
Learning Support Services
See the Learning Support Services page for information on a number of services to support and enhance the learning you do in class or online that are offered by Lakewood and Arvada campuses of Red Rocks Community College. These services are FREE to all Red Rocks Students, so be sure to take advantage of as many of them as you need!
Online Writing Center
The Red Rocks Community College's Online Writing Center (OWC) is committed to helping students learn to write better. OWC tutors, all of whom are fully qualified English instructors, are available to work with students in any subject area to improve their writing skills, offering them strategies and resources for succeeding in any kind of writing assignment, including essays, term papers, and essay exams. Tutors can help students generate, organize, and develop topics, revise and edit with confidence, and observe conventions of format and documentation.
Writing @ RRCC Web Site
The web site for Writing @ RRCC, the Red Rocks writing handbook, offers a variety of resources that supplement the handbook. The library keeps several copies of the handbook on reserve for students. Students are encouraged to buy a copy of the handbook, which can be used in all Red Rocks classes, at the bookstore.
Library Newsletters
The library sends newsletters to faculty and staff every month during fall and spring semester with special newsletters covering breaks. Newsletters feature the monthly library display, information about online services, and new and interesteing books.
