240 Union Restaurant Raises Money for Scholarships at RRCC LAKEWOOD, CO – Fine dining will support educational opportunities for students of Red Rocks Community College at the 7th annual Red Rocks Community College Foundation Benefit at 240 Union Restaurant in Lakewood on Tuesday, April 15. 240 Union Restaurant will donate twenty-five percent of food proceeds from lunch and dinner sales on April 15 to the Red Rocks Community College Foundation’s Swede Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund provides students in financial need with support to reach their educational and career goals. Marvin D. "Swede" Johnson, a former executive at Coors Brewing Company, was instrumental in the creation of the Red Rocks Foundation and served as its first president. The Red Rocks Community College Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to providing opportunities, offering options, and recognizing excellence. The Red Rocks Community College Foundation was established in 1993 with the vision of helping students of all income levels have access to higher education. This year, the Foundation will provide more than $300,000 in scholarships to students at Red Rocks Community College. 240 Union has been serving the West Metro area meals and spirits in its one-of-a-kind, showroom of a restaurant since 1989. Chefs Dave Shinsky and Nicole Verville change the menu with the seasons, and offer a daily specials page with a variety of selections. Hand-tossed, applewood oven-roasted pizzas and specialty pastas round out selections featuring premiere beef, pork, lamb and chicken. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Reservations, at 303-989-3562, are recommended.
