RRCC Awards 1,643 Degrees, Certificates 

LAKEWOOD, CO – Red Rocks Community College will present 1,643 degrees or certificates this year, marking the college’s 38th annual commencement. Of these, 135 students will “walk” during the graduation ceremony at the college’s Lakewood campus on Saturday, May 17th. John H. Alexander, Jr., president of the Helen K. and Arthur E. Johnson Foundation, will be the featured keynote speaker.

Since its first commencement ceremony in 1971, 26,961 (including this year) students have graduated from Red Rocks Community College. This year's graduating class includes 303 students graduating with honors; Phi Theta Kappa honor society will graduate 83 members.

In addition to the graduates, also honored at this year's ceremony will be:

Featured Keynote:
John H. Alexander, Jr.
Founded in 1948 by Helen K. and Arthur E. Johnson, the Johnson Foundation is a private, family foundation which provides grants to not-for-profit organizations and institutions throughout Colorado.  The Foundation has made grants totaling more than $130 million since its founding.  John was appointed by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees in December, 2002.
