RRCC TO HONOR DIVERSITY AND HUMANITY AT ANNUAL CELEBRATION
LAKEWOOD, CO – Red Rocks Community College invites the community to participate in a Celebration of Humanity on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in the Community Room #0650 at the college’s Lakewood campus, 13300 W. 6th Ave., from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Celebration of Humanity recognizes the lives of leaders who have made a positive impact on humanity, particularly remembering the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and encourages each of us to continue his courageous efforts.
The free public event will include lunch, presentation of an RRCC scholarship, awards, and feature keynote speaker Adriana P. Nieto, PhD. Nieto is an assistant professor of Chicana/Chicano Studies at Metropolitan State College of Denver. She holds an M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico, and a PhD in Religious and Theological Studies from the Joint PhD Program at the University of Denver and the Iliff School of Theology with concentrations in Religion & Social Change, and Theology, Philosophy, and Cultural Theory.
