Electric & Gas Industries Association Partner to
Support Building
Science Students
Contractors Grow Business with Performance Partners

Lakewood CO-- Red Rocks Community College’s Rocky Mountain Education Center (RMEC) and Electric & Gas Industries Association (EGIA), a national non-profit contractor association, are partnering to support and educate the green collar workforce currently training to integrate energy efficiency, comfort, and renewable energy into the built environment.  This Performance Partnership provides business support services, sales and marketing training, and industry networking to contractors and building science students. 

As a component of this new partnership, EGIA is giving 25 free memberships to Red Rocks Community College students who are preparing for careers in this field.  Interested students should contact Larry Snyder, Construction Faculty, at 303.914.6306 or

Performance Partners deliver building science training to students, energy auditors and raters, and building contractors.  EGIA will provide an array of programs, services and tools designed to help building improvement, HVAC, solar and wind, photovoltaic, and insulation contractors increase profits and reduce operational costs associated with delivery of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions.  Building contractor benefits available through this new partnership include:

As the continuing education department of Red Rocks Community College, and the OSHA Region VIII Training Institute, RMEC is dedicated to providing high quality, effective and affordable training services.  In addition to the safety and environmental compliance courses, RMEC has expanded offerings to include the EPA Certified Lead Renovator course, pre-employment testing services using WorkKeys©, and “green industry” certifications test prep courses and test proctoring to ensure contractors are current in energy efficiency and alternative energy installation and operations.
