RRCC Foundation Receives $128K from Rolling Hills Country Club Foundation
(Proceeds to support RRCC student scholarships)

Lakewood CO—Rolling Hills Country Club Foundation presented the Red Rocks Community College Foundation a check for $128,300 during a board gathering on September 7. The funds were raised during the country club’s 12th Annual Golf Classic tournament on June 27 and a companion event, Red Hot Rio on June 25. The funds will provide scholarships for Red Rocks students in need.

RRCC president Dr. Michele Haney and RRCC Foundation director Ron Slinger accepted the check from Candy Edwards, chair of the Rolling Hills Country Club Foundation. Dr. Haney noted the generosity of the club’s foundation as she presented board members with a custom plaque crafted from the college’s fine woodworking department.

“Red Rocks is grateful for the support of Rolling Hills,” said Dr. Haney. “This generous contribution will enable us to fulfill our mission of assessable higher education for all members of our community.”
About Rolling Hills Country Club Foundation: Rolling Hills Country Club is one of only six country clubs in the country to have a charitable foundation. Each year the Rolling Hills Country Club Foundation sponsors a golf tournament on a Monday in June, which is preceded by a Saturday evening party at the Club. A different charity is selected each year as the beneficiary of the events, receiving 75% of the net proceeds.

About Red Rocks Community College Foundation: The Red Rocks Community College Foundation was established in 1993 with the vision of addressing the financial barrier by helping students of all income levels have access to higher education. Now more than a decade later, the Foundation has awarded in excess of $8 million--$3 million in scholarships and $2.5 million for other RRCC programs. Scholarship support alone has assisted over 2,115 students in meeting their educational and life goals.
