World-renowned pianist and violinist to perform at RRCC
LAKEWOOD, CO – Red Rocks Community College will host the “Magic of Dance,” a violin and piano performance by DuoClassica, on Tuesday, November 1. The free event will be held at the college’s Lakewood campus in the Community room at 5 p.m. and is open to the public.
DuoClassica includes Red Rocks faculty member Olga Dashevskaya on piano and Lydia Sviatlovskaya, the Colorado Ballet Orchestra concertmaster, on violin. The ladies typically perform a broad spectrum of music, from contemporary to traditional, but have chosen to focus on some of the more technical classical composers for this concert. Their “Magic of Dance” program will consist of pieces composed by Kriesler, de Falla, Shostakovich, Debussy, Piazzolla, Ravel, and Brahms, as well as short narrative segments.
The performers will also be showcasing these pieces on Oct. 30 at Grace United Methodist Church. This event will be ticketed, and is another chance to listen to highly skilled, classically-trained musicians in person.
