Recognized by West Chamber Serving Jefferson County

LAKEWOOD, CO - The Red Rocks Community College Foundation was presented with the 2011 Nonprofit of the Year award by the West Chamber Serving Jefferson County at its annual Chairman’s Inaugural Celebration lunch on January 27, 2012. “We are honored to receive this recognition,” said Dr. Michele Haney, president of RRCC.  “Our Foundation provides crucial support to many students for whom higher education would be out of reach, and this award reinforces our efforts.”

Scholarship support alone has assisted over 2,100 students meet their educational and life goals.

“This recognition is greatly appreciated as it supports what we already know,” said Tim Campbell, RRCC Foundation Board President.  “We are making a positive difference in the lives of students and in the community through ensuring access to higher education, better jobs and a more secure future.”

The event honored local businesses and individuals for their exceptional performance in 2011.  Additional awards were given to the Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Young Professional of the Year, Elected Official of the Year, and Ambassador of the Year.
