RRCC's Alpha Kappa Sigma Receives Colorado Region Distinguished Chapter Award
LAKEWOOD, CO - Alpha Kappa Sigma returned from the Colorado Regional Phi Theta Kappa Convention held on March 2 & 3 with some wonderful recognition.
There are 23 chapters in the region, so we’re very proud of receiving the following:
-Five-Star Chapter (only 4 chapters achieved this top level)
-Distinguished Chapter Officer Corissa Bowman
-Distinguished Chapter Officer Team Corissa, Sara Holden and Lori Ebenhack
-College Project Award (for the Complete What You Started project, in collaboration with the advising department)
-Honors in Action Project-3rd place (for the Retention project)
-Distinguished Issue Award (Retention project-Education)
And the big one . . .
-Colorado Region Distinguished Chapter!!!
Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society of the two year college with over 1200 chapters worldwide. Membership is open only to students who meet the eligibility requirements. Our chapter, Alpha Kappa Sigma, plans activities throughout the year based on the society Hallmarks of Scholarship, Service, Leadership and Fellowship.
Alpha Kappa Sigma invites new members to join during the fall and spring semesters. Eligible students, those who have a 3.5 GPA and have completed 12 credits of 100 level classes and above, will receive a letter of invitation from the college president.
