240 Union Restaurant Raises Money for Scholarships at Red Rocks Community College
LAKEWOOD, CO – Fine dining…and lunching will provide much needed scholarship dollars for students at Red Rocks Community College as a result of the 11th annual Red Rocks Community College Foundation Benefit at 240 Union Restaurant in Lakewood on Wednesday, April 25, 2012.
Twenty-five percent of all 240 Union lunch and dinner food sales on April 25 will go to the Swede Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund provides students in financial need with support to reach their educational and career goals. Marvin D. "Swede" Johnson, a former executive at Coors Brewing Company, was instrumental in the creation of the Red Rocks Foundation and served as its first president.
The Red Rocks Community College Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to supporting the students, faculty, and staff at the college in their pursuit of excellence. The Red Rocks Community College Foundation was established in 1993 with the vision of helping students of all income levels have access to higher education. Since its inception, the Foundation has given more than three million dollars in scholarships to RRCC students and $2.5 million for other RRCC programs. The Foundation also provides mini-grants to faculty and staff, awards for outstanding faculty, and support for other worthwhile initiatives.
Since 1989, 240 Union has been serving the West Metro area fabulous meals and spirits in its inviting restaurant located at – you guessed it…240 Union St. in Lakewood. Owner, Michael Coughlin, can be found on premises most days ensuring that customers have a fantastic meal and a great dining experience.
