RRCC Foundation hosts Inaugural Alumni & Friends Golf Outing
Proceeds support First Responder programs at RRCC
LAKEWOOD, CO – The Red Rocks Community College Foundation hosted its Inaugural Alumni & Friends Golf Outing on June 15 to benefit the First Responder programs at RRCC. The event attracted 64 RRCC alumni and guests who raised much needed funds to support the college’s EMS, fire science and law enforcement programs.
Over 80% of firefighters and other first responders are credentialed by community colleges nationwide. These critical programs require high-tech training equipment to simulate what is used on the front lines of community safety each day. More than $6,000 was raised during this year’s golf outing which took place at Applewood Golf Course in Golden, CO.
Players had the chance to win a car and cash prizes with a hole in one thanks to EMICH Chevrolet. Though no one won the car or cash, everyone had lots of fun trying. The event culminated with an awards dinner where teams were recognized in various categories. The event was made possible thanks to this year’s sponsors – Century Casino, ERA, Grainger, Isle Casino Hotel, and EMICH Chevrolet. Alumni who missed this year’s golf outing but are interested in participating will have the opportunity with next year’s event.
