Red Rocks Community College Foundation Announces 2016-2017 Foundation Mini-Grant Program Awardees

Lakewood, CO—Red Rocks Community College Foundation is proud to announce this year’s Foundation Mini-Grant Program awardees. Successful proposals include projects and professional development.

“The Mini-Grant Program gives our faculty and staff a chance to spread their wings,” said Ron Slinger, Associate Vice-President of Institutional Advancement for Red Rocks Community College and Executive Director of the RRCC Foundation. “These are projects our faculty and staff take on to improve the student experience at Red Rocks.”

This year’s grantees will use their awards for projects informing student recruitment and retention. Projects include Online Math Tutoring Pilots to help busy students, a Pitch Expo to encourage entrepreneurship, and professional development portions of larger campus initiatives.

Founded in 1995, the Foundation Mini-Grant Program provides staff, full-time faculty and part-time instructors the opportunity to develop projects in areas such as enhanced student learning and performance; curriculum development; innovative uses of technology; development of instructional activities; development of alternative fiscal resources; professional development; the purchase of instructional equipment/technology; or other projects that would not normally be funded by area or departmental budgets. The application period is open during March each year.

Red Rocks Community College Foundation, founded in 1991, is a separate, non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization. It is through the RRCC Foundation that tax-deductible donations are made for the benefit of Red Rocks Community College. Now in its 25th year, the RRCC Foundation provides over 200 scholarships annually through its award-winning Foundation Scholarship Program, promotes educational excellence through the Endowed Teaching Chair Program, Mini-Grants, and Dr. Agneta Albinsson Grants, and supports other college initiatives. rrcc.edu/foundation
