The Red Rocks Community College Foundation Elects Two New Directors

Lakewood, CO -The Red Rocks Community College Foundation welcomes Shaw Schulder and Paula Claussen to their Board of Directors. The Red Rocks Community College Foundation strives to diversify the expertise of its membership as it works to support the vision and mission of Red Rocks Community College.
“We are lucky to have Shaw Schulder and Paula Claussen among our Board of Directors as they bring valuable perspectives from across professional sectors,” said Ron Slinger, Executive Director. “They are each strong supporters of education and community, and I look forward to working with them both.”
Shaw Schulder manages the Boulder market for W.W. Grainger, Inc. and has been involved with Red Rocks Community College over the past several years through Grainger’s Tools for Tomorrow® scholarship program. Since 2006, the Grainger Tools for Tomorrow® scholarship program has helped technical education students across the country realize their educational goals. The scholarship recognizes outstanding students with a $2,000 scholarship and a customized Westward® toolkit upon successful completion of the student’s technical education program.  Red Rocks Community College and the Foundation have partnered with Grainger since 2008.  To date, 15 students, representing various technical fields, have received scholarships and toolkits.  In addition, the Grainger Foundation has made several grants providing cutting edge equipment and technology benefiting students in career and technical education programs. The investment from Shaw and W.W. Grainger, Inc. has been critical to the success of both RRCC students and education programs.

Paula Claussen currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of the Lakewood Market for FirstBank.  Her extensive career with FirstBank boasts over 13 years in leadership. The Red Rocks Community College Foundation is fortunate to have her guidance and leadership, continuing a long standing investment from members of the FirstBank team. Since 1995, FirstBank has supported Red Rocks Community College and the Foundation through board membership and gifts totaling more than $160,000, the majority of which has supported the FirstBank scholarship program. Paula is a welcome addition to the FirstBank legacy and brings tremendous knowledge in finance, leadership and education to the Foundation Board.
