RRCC Woodworking Program Presents Emerging Wood Artisans in Out of the Woods Showcase
Event will showcase original student works

LAKEWOOD, CO – Red Rocks Community College’s Fine Woodworking program presents Out of the Woods, a spring exhibit of original wood furniture, art works, and musical instruments at the Red Rocks Lakewood campus at 13300 West 6th Avenue on Saturday, May 16 from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The showcase, located in the Great Hall, accessed by the west entrance, is open to the public and admission is free.

Out of the Woods is a twice-per-year exhibit by emerging wood artisans, the students who are part of the Red Rocks Community College Fine Woodworking program. ”We are one of the largest woodworking schools in the country with the greatest curriculum diversity,” explained department co-chair Jeremy Cox.  “Every semester our Fine Woodworking students create innovative and beautifully finished pieces, and we want to introduce the community to this rich resource of talent and training.  We also want to expose collectors and professional wood workers to the next generation of extraordinary artisans and the emergence of wood objects, furniture, and instruments as art.”

Out of the Woods will feature more than 300 original student works, including finely crafted tables, chairs, cabinets, stringed instruments, and artworks that are turned, veneered and carved.
