RRCC Online students can take advantage of all of the
student resources and services available to on-campus
students. We have included some of the most common ones
here.
In addition to the on-campus bookstore at the Red Rocks Lakewood Campus, there is an online bookstore for all students. Go to http://www.rrcc.edu/online/studentres.htm to see which books are required for your class and order your books from the comfort of your own home. |

- Online orientation information is available
under our Getting Started link.
- Face-to-face orientations are available
every semester. For Spring 2006 we will have
evening orientations on Tuesday, August 15,
at 6:00pm and 6:30pm. RSVP to ehelpdesk@rrcc.edu.

email) with an advisor before the start of
each semester. The following advisors are

Tips on how to write for a variety of disciplines,
plus Pearson’s Research Navigator.™ This
tool is the easiest way to start a research assignment
or research paper. Complete with extensive help
on the research process and four exclusive databases
of credible and reliable source material. Research
Navigator also includes information on citation
formats including MLA, APA, CMS, and CBE.

Red Rocks offers free tutoring to those students
in need of it. Come into the Learning and Resource
Center (LARC) to receive help from available
tutors. One-to-one tutoring is also available.

Our tutors are available to work with students
in any subject area to improve their writing
skills, offering them strategies and resources
for succeeding in any kind of writing assignment,
including essays, term papers, and essay exams.
Tutors can help students generate, organize,
and develop topics, revise and edit with confidence,
and observe conventions of format and documentation.
Students who would like assistance with writing
should contact the Red Rocks Online
Writing Center. |
Red Rocks students attending via RRCC Online
and CCCOnline have the full use of the collections
and services of the Red Rocks Library located
on the Lakewood Campus. Services include checkout
privileges from the book collection, remote access
to the library's online subscription services
(use your Red Rocks student number for remote
access), checkout privileges from the book collection,
Interlibrary Loan, special fax services, email
reference service, and other services. Students
with questions about library services should
contact the Red Rocks Library (303-914-6740, library@rrcc.edu)
or visit the library's home
page. The library's Online
Services Guide provides an expanded
list of online resources for students. |
- The Office of Student Life is the hub
for extra-curricular programs and services. Here
you can get information on clubs and organizations,
leadership development, student rights and responsibilities,
activities and events, intramural sports and
more.
- At the Student Life Desk, you can rent
lockers, get your student ID, check out a free
book on tape, buy a bus pass and discount tickets
for sporting events and entertainment, make copies,
send faxes, participate in the Student Food Bank
and more. Visit the Student

The Office of Special Services is located in
room 1182 inside the Learning and Resource Center
(LARC) on the Lakewood Campus.
- The Office of Special Services offers
programs that are appropriate for people with
disabilities (including learning disabled), academically
or economically disadvantaged, limited in English
proficiency.
- We provide advocacy, assessment, direction,
learning skills and school-to-employment transitioning.
- These services are provided to individuals
within Red Rocks Community College and the community
in large. The intent is to serve individuals
with diverse needs who face substantial barriers
to academic and career success.

- The Computer Access Center provides adaptive
equipment and training for students with disabilities.
- Through course offerings, such as adaptive
word processing, students learn to use speech
synthesizers, screen readers, screen magnifiers,
Grammatik and on-line dictionaries.
|
- Students with disabilities (including
the learning disabled and those with physical,
sensory and temporary disabilities), who
need assistance in order to succeed, are
eligible to receive free services to assist
them at Red Rocks Community College.
- These services include:
- counseling and vocational assessment;
- academic advising and registration
assistance;
- consultation with instructors;
- text recording, note-taking and use
of adaptive equipment;
- handicapped parking and campus orientation;
- sign language and oral interpreting
- liaison with rehabilitation agencies
and other Colorado post-secondary institutions.
- Services are provided on an individual
needs assessment basis.
