The Red Rocks Police Department has developed a Police Internship Program. This program allows the police officer to use this police department as a stepping stone for the officer’s chosen police department or sheriff’s office. Most RRPD Officers have employment longevity of six months to one year before employment with another agency.
The police applicant must be Colorado P.O.S.T. certified, pass a psychological test, and a background investigations. The preferred applicant has just graduated from a local police academy and possesses strong communications skills.
The Police Department hires student hourly workers as Security Guards for weekend coverage and student workers as Dispatchers for daily coverge in the communication center.
