News: NEW!! Expanding Jordan’s green collar workforce
An International Partnership to Establish
an Associate Degree Program in Solar Energy Technology (SET).
In 2007, the government of Jordan committed itself to increasing the share of renewable energy in its energy use portfolio to 7% by 2015 and reach 10% by the year 2020 as a strategy to address the unmanageable cost of its energy consumption, which has reached 20% of its annual Gross Domestic Product.

Also, Red Rocks Community College faculty and staff will be visiting Jordan this spring. Dean Joan Smith will be in Amman, Jordan April 30 – May 7. "Sleeper House" gets a wake-up call from RRCC energy audit students
In the RRCC's Energy Audit course( ENY 102), students are given the real-world technical training required to improve the energy efficiency of the infamous "Sleeper House" in Genesse, Colorado.Renewable energy sources are the cutting edge of America’s quest for a diversified and secure energy future. Environmentally friendly and regenerating, renewable energy sources have always been the right choice, but with rising fuel costs, renewable energy sources are no longer a choice but a requirement. Careers in renewable energy will be increasing dramatically nationally as well as locally. There has been an increasing demand for skilled workers in the local area for solar installers, home energy auditors and many other areas. Learn the skills you need for these green collar jobs at Red Rocks Community College!
