What's New at the RMEC
Mortgage Broker Licensing
State of Colorado Law requires all Mortgage Brokers doing business in Colorado to receive 40 hours of education and take the state licensing test by January 1, 2009.
“On and after January 1, 2009, all mortgage brokers conducting business in this state must be licensed with the Division of Real Estate pursuant to Senate Bill 07-203,” as posted by DORA.
Colorado has over 9,000 Mortgage Brokers who must meet the NEW State of Colorado Education and Licensing requirement by January 1, 2009. The Rocky Mountain Education Center at Red Rocks Community College is offering training that will meet these NEW State educational requirements. This training will cover the basic requirements of the loan originator’s responsibilities, the purpose and provisions of each law and regulation governing mortgage loan origination and penalties for non-compliance. Real estate transaction and loan origination forms will be reviewed and explained.
