Coming to Red Rocks Community College Theatre Arts and Dance:

Rocky Mountain Theatre Association Festivention '08!

• Red Rocks Community College Theatre Arts and Dance Department and Metro State College of Denver are proud to announce their collaboration with the Lakewood Cultural Center, Community College of Denver and University of Colorado-Denver in co-hosting the 2008 Rocky Mountain Theatre Association Festivention dated for January 16-19, 2008.

• As the oldest organization of its kind in the United States, RMTA has been producing Festiventions since 1951. This annual conference includes four days of workshops, auditions, competitions and productions of theatre and dance students and professionals from the five Rocky Mountain States: Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana.

• RRCC is no stranger to hosting. Four years ago RRCC collaborated with Metro State College of Denver to host the 2003 Festivention.

• Daytime events will be scheduled on the Lakewood campus at Red Rocks Community College with evening events at the Lakewood Cultural Center.

• During the Festivention the Rocky Mountain's most talented students and community members will be participating in any of the following competitions:

• Design Award
• Playwriting Award
• Musical Theatre Acting Award
• Outstanding Technician Award
• College/University Acting Partner Award
• Community Theatre Partner Award

• Tech Olympics

• Award recipients may receive an engraved plaque and/or monetary prizes as well as scholarships to Colleges and Universities and to the professional USITT convention for technical theatre professionals.
