General Scholarship Requirements

To be considered for scholarships, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
  • Apply for admission to RRCC at www.rrcc.edu/admis/
  • Be a Colorado resident
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen

 

2013 High School Graduates Only:

Columbine Remembrance

Eligibility:

  • Nomination by high school counselor, essay and high school transcript
  • Volunteer service or community involvement, brief essay
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • 2013 Jefferson County high school graduate
  • Must be enrolled full-term (12 credits) each semester

Covers: Two academic years (fall and spring) $2000 per semester
Value:
$8000*

First Generation Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25 on a 4.0 scale
  • Nomination by high school counselor or teacher, essay and transcript
  • First generation college student
  • 2013 Jefferson, Gilpin, Clear Creek, Park County, or John F. Kennedy high school graduate

Covers: Tuition only for up to 12 credit hours for two academic years (fall and spring)
Value:  Varies*

High School Senior Achievement Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Early graduation completion by December
  • Jefferson, Gilpin, Clear Creek, Park County or John F. Kennedy high school graduate
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

Covers: Up to 12 credit hours of tuition only for the spring 2013 semester
Value: Varies*

Other Scholarships:

RRCC Foundation Scholarships

(Current and Incoming RRCC Students)

Eligibility:

  • Enrolled in six credits or more at RRCC each semester (fall and spring)
  • Some awards have preferences of cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher

Covers: one or two semesters (fall and spring)
Value: Minimum award $300 per semester*
Deadline: Friday, May 31, 2013

Phi Theta Kappa/Honors Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Must be a continuing RRCC student
  • Be a member in-good-standing in Phi Theta Kappa at RRCC
  • Enroll in 6 credits at RRCC each semester (fall and spring)
  • Must enroll in the one credit PTK/Honors special topics course in the fall
  • Students may receive this scholarship a maximum of 2 times

Covers: Two semesters (fall and spring) $600 per semester
Value: $1,200*

Eligibility:

  • GED Recipient
