Associate of Applied Science Degree Paraeducator

The No Child Left Behind Act strengthens paraeducator requirements to include two years of postsecondary education or, for an applicant with a high school diploma, the demonstration of necessary skills on an academic assessment (Work Keys test). RRCC has developed a Paraeducator Certificate and an educational track to assist paraprofessionals in meeting these new requirements. If you plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete teacher certification, you should consider the Associate of Arts degree, Elementary Education.

This program prepares students to work as a paraeducator in the K-12 classroom.
