(K-12) Department of Red Rocks Community College

Elementary (K-6) Education Students

RRCC students earn an Associate of Arts degree with an emphasis in Elementary Education. This degree is fully transferable to any Colorado public and most private four-year colleges and universities. Click on "Degrees" on the left and choose AA-Elementary Education.

Secondary (7-12) Education Students

If you plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a secondary education certification program, meet with the RRCC teacher education faculty advisor to design a course of study. Electives will include RRCC education courses and courses in your area of emphasis. Click on "Degrees" on the left and choose AA-Secondary Education.

Our Teacher Education program provides:

  1. Teacher Education classes that transfer to 4 year programs.
  2. 30 hours of field experience in a K-12 classroom.
  3. A solid grounding in general education including American History, American Government and Literature.
  4. A strong foundation in math and science, one of the strengths of RRCC.

Paraeducator Program

In addition to our Teacher Education program, we have also developed a new program for paraeducator K-12 which is designed to meet the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Legislation. Earn Highly Qualified Teacher college credits online.
