Directions to Make Traced Discovering

Start, Programs,
Accessories, Paint

File, page
setup, change to Landscape
3.
View, Zoom,
Large size
4.
Tape the state
transparency to the screen
5.
Using one of
the draw tools from the tool bar ( pen, paint
brush, line tool) trace the state.

Using the rectangle
select button (from the tool bar) select the map-make sure that you
get all of it. Try not to select too much of the white space outside
the traced pattern.

Edit, Copy
8.
Open Word.
File, page setup, change to Landscape
9.
Edit, paste.
Double click the picture and choose Layout, Square, Center. Now your map should be surrounded by clear bubbles,
so you can manipulate it.
10. Dragging one of the corners, enlarge the map to about
75% of the page.
11. Using the Zoom box from the toolbar, change to 75% -
makes the map easier to see and work with.
12. Save your work.
13. Select View, Headers and Footers, and switch to the Footer.
Label this with your name.
14. Right click on the picture, Order, Send to back.
15. Using information from your note taking guide, decorate
the picture with facts. Remember,
you can bring in pics from the Internet, Inspiration, Clip art, etc.
Make sure and include such things, as the Capitol, cities you
discovered while gathering your facts, state symbols, and historical
facts.
16. Save your work
17. You will now get together in groups of three with students
from the other groups and share your work.
(One person from group one, one from group two, and one from
