What is the
Internet?
The Internet is
comprised of millions of computers, all over the world, all connected via
satellite, buried fiber optic cable, high speed telephone lines, networks
within buildings and campuses, or other data links. The Internet is often called “a network of
networks.”
What is the
World Wide Web?
The World Wide Web
is a collection of documents and files on the Internet that are all linked
together, enabling users to find, retrieve, and use the information. The World Wide Web is abbreviated WWW.
What is Web
Browser?
Software used to
move about on the Web is called a browser.
What are
Netscape and Internet Explorer?
Netscape and
Internet Explorer are the two most popular Web browsers.
What is a URL?
A Uniform Resource
Locator is the addressing system used by the World Wide Web. Addresses begin with the type of site, followed
