How to work with a tutor in your classroom
Best Practices for Instructors:
- If possible, write your syllabus with tutors in mind. Consider when you might want tutors in your classroom to help with particularly challenging concepts.
- It is often more effective to have a tutor in your classroom several times for short periods rather than once for a long period.
- Meet with the tutor before he/she comes to your class to discuss your goals for the class and ask for the tutor’s suggestions.
- Meet with the tutor after he/she comes to your class to discuss how the class went and what might be done differently next time.
