Office of Veterans Affairs

Red Rocks Community College welcomes veterans and has an Office of Veterans Affairs to serve you. E-mail Donna Merriman or call 303.914.6353 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday for copies of our current schedule, catalog or for an early-out letter.

In addition to completing an application for admission, you will need to provide the following documents, depending on which chapter of VA Educational Benefits you qualify for:

  • If you are a new GI bill or VEAP (Chapters 30 and 32) recipient, you will need a certified copy of your DD-214. Certification can be accomplished either through the VA office or the county clerk's office in the county in which you live.

  • If you qualify for both the new GI bill and the old one, copies of your marriage license and the birth certificates of your dependent children are required, along with the certified DD-214.

  • If you are a member of the National Guard/Reserve (Chapter 1606), you will need a copy of your DD-2384 (NOBE). Obtain this form through your unit.

If you are a dependent of a veteran either deceased or permanently disabled due to a service-related injury (Chapter 35), contact the local VA office for information on how to apply for these benefits. The toll free number is 1-800-827-1000.

If you are a veteran with a permanent service-related injury, contact the regional VA office at 1-800-827-1000.
