Hands-On Learning with WQM Lab Facilities
Students learn best when they are actively engaged. We strive to implement these teaching methods whenever possible.
The Water Quality Management Technology program enriches its curricula with a mobile learning lab that supports online courses WQM 109, 118, 124, 125, 224 and 225.
The mobile lab travels across Colorado serving students that cannot travel to RRCC for laboratory coursework.
Grants from the National Science Foundation and the TAA- Department of Labor funded the development, redesign and adaption of many of the WQM courses that are associated with the mobile learning lab. The grants also funded lab supplies and ongoing operation of the mobile learning lab. Mobile Learning Lab Factsheet
The Distribution Training Lab supports the WQM 109-Water Distribution Systems course and is designed to teach students about the intricacies of distributing safe drinking water.
This Lab provides Colorado’s most advanced hands-on water distribution training and is located at the Environmental Training Center, home to the Water Quality Management (WQM) Technology program at Red Rocks Community College. Distribution Training Lab Factsheet
