Welcome to Water Quality Management Technology
The Water Quality Management Technology (WQM) program at Red Rocks Community College is a comprehensive program that prepares students for employment in water and wastewater operations. If you are already working in the industry, the WQM program offers courses that apply to higher operator certification.
Most of the WQM activities are supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) or the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAA)-Department of Labor. These grants fund activities such as curricula redesign for hybrid and distance learning, the creation of a mobile teaching lab, supporting student success through career coaching, and coordinating job readiness training and professional networking events.
As seen in the National Rural Water Association publication:
“Our nationally recognized educational program has made our courses available to you in an ONLINE delivery.
The Red Rocks Community College Water Quality Management Technology program consists of 28 different courses, offered through a rotating schedule. Specialize your training NOW!”
Our new online program delivery is compiled of the existing detailed curriculum that we have become well known for, but with its development effort the opportunity presented itself to update and modify our content.
Our online classes are more than reading and examinations. The new format provides students with more “hands-on” learning exercises to engage the student while still providing our outstanding curriculum. Learn more about our courses
Summer classes now open:
WQM 100 – Intro to Water Quality, WQM 105 – Specific Calculations and WQM 200 – Hydraulics.
Now Open! The RRCC Environmental Training Center (ETC)
This state-of-the-art facility was designed to accomodate the Water Quality Management program with a new administration area, four new eco-friendly classrooms, and an expanded parking lot. The new construction meets LEED gold certification in that it is environmentally friendly, and uses water and solar to power, cool, and heat the building. Read more about the new facility here!
