Who We Are

Welcome to Water Quality Management Technology

The Water Quality Management Technology (WQM) program at Red Rocks Community College is one of 12 centers in the country with a comprehensive program that prepares students for employment in water and wastewater operations and other water industries. Our credentialed, highly qualified faculty have industry experience in local, national and international water quality management.

The U. S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics-Office of Occupational Statistics and Employment Projections estimates that between 2008 and 2018, there will be a 21% increase in wastewater and water jobs in Colorado.

Many of the WQM activities are supported by one or both of the following funders: National Science Foundation; or the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAA)-Department of Labor. These grants are funding activities such as curricula redesign for online and distance learning, the creation of a mobile teaching lab, supporting student success through career coaching, and coordinating job readiness training and professional networking events.
