Reflect on the Data
What is the child's perspective? (examine all domains of development: emotional, social, cognitive, motor)
When looking at the child's perspective, two guiding questions the educator may want to consider are:
- What ideas might the children be exploring?
- What might a child be trying to accomplish?
Since learning occurs simultaneously across all developmental domains, it is important to think about the curiosity, learning and skills being demonstrated in each domain of development.
What is the child's perspective?
- What am I doing?
- How am I feeling?
- What am I learning? Consider all areas (refer back to developmental milestones charts in the Analyze Data section):
- Social
- Emotional
- Cognitive
- Physical
- Language
- What is my learning style?
- Kinesthetic, visual, aural, etc.
- Gardner's Multiple Intelligences
- Categories, roles and functions of play as a learning strategy
